First rate work by skilled craftsmen - that was my experience with Master Handyman Services when we recently updated our bathroom.

The price was quoted before the work began and there were no surprises along the way. Replacement/repair of tiling, hardware, doors, plaster and paint gave the room a fresh, new look. And it was done quietly and professionally. No question of where I'll go for our next home improvement.

Matt was very personable and precise.  The jobs he did for our home were to remove, replace and paint our old front door . It  was crooked and had to be reframed.  He replaced my old deck which was not up to code.  I had a toddler who really appreciated being able to go out on the new deck as well my husband and I.  It was now beautifully crafted and safe.  We also got several rooms in our home repainted to perfection.

I had Matt in to replace 6 windows, do painting and give an estimate to repair poorly done work by a previous contractor which i will most certainly be using him to do. His analysis of the work that had been done poorly, and what would be needed to be done in order to correct those problems, demonstrated his vast knowledge of construction.

 

The work done was outstanding and the price very fair. Great sense of humor, prompt and meticulous in his work. He was a pleasure to do business with and I would highly recommend him.

Having a house built in 1905 is sometimes a major pain. Several years ago we had an extension added on and I, being a woodworker, wanted to build the molding tha connected the old to the new. However, years went by and I never took the time to do it.

 

I eventually hired Matt having seen his woodworking capabilities. He built a custom tool to create new molding that matches the old, stained, finished and prepped the wood. With some thought and care he artfully created a smooth transition from the old to the new and it looks great.

 

My wife and I are very happy with the results and I appreciate the attention to detail and craftsmanship (my wife was especially happy that he always cleaned up:)

Matt is a class act.  We recently purchased a home and wanted to paint the inside of the house prior to moving in.  We were referred to Matt by Aboffs in Huntington. 

 

Matt came to the house to give an estimate and was very professional and thorough.  The estimate was very fairly priced and accurate.  Matt is truly a master at painting.  He did a fabulous job.  Matt was kind enough to point out any defects he found along the way and asked if we wanted them repaired, throwing some in at no charge. 

 

Matt is a perfectionist and it truly shows in his high quality of work.  I feel confident that Matt will do a stellar job with any household repair/improvement.  We have quite a few things that we want done in the new home and Matt has been coming by almost every week for 2-3 months now. 

 

Every time we think of something we want done, we call Matt.  He is trustworthy, professional and an overall good guy.  We highly recommend him.

Matt Stern at Master Handyman Services has been a godsend for us as we were preparing our home for sale.

Since our home is an older house, a lot of minor repairs and improvements were needed. From the start, Matt was professional, cheerful, upfront about costs, and offered us choices in how best to proceed, explaining all of the pros and cons of each option. Every task he took on was completed with expertise, and his friendly manner and flexibility in scheduling and planning the work was incredibly helpful, as we had another contractor renovating our kitchen at the time. He urged us to inspect everything closely, and when we did, we found no cause for complaint at all. 

His prices are very reasonable, especially considering the overall high quality of the work, and he even offered us advice at no charge on repairs we took on ourselves. He was very good about keeping us updated on the projects and their status, and unlike some other contractors who won't explain details about the work they're doing or the reasons behind pricing, he explained in a clear and straightforward manner whenever it was needed and gave us thorough breakdowns on costs for each individual job. We asked a lot of questions, and he handled them all with a cheerful and professional demeanor.

We were so happy with his work that we requested more work from him while the first contracted jobs were in progress. His attention to the details of his handiwork is refreshing, and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who is better at doing a wide variety of home repairs and improvements.

Quality service at reasonable rates!  I have been using Master Handyman Services for over 2 years and I have not 1 complaint!  Matt is very professional and honest. He is very clear in his estimates and has even come under the estimated price for the job on occasion.  Everything is written out in detail so there are no questions regarding hidden fees, which is important to me as I am a single mother who is not very familiar with costs of most repairs.

 

Matt charges by the job NOT by the day so I was surprised he took the time to make it perfect - but he did!  Needless to say after seeing how conscientious he was I hired him to paint the rest of the house.  The place looked immaculate after he left each day which was surprising because of all of the sanding etc.

 

I have since used him for a masonry job and carpentry work.  He is very knowledgeable about all facets of repair which has saved me a bundle!  I was replacing our basketball hoop because the brackets kept bending causing the hoop to sag. He asked if he could take a look.  He replaced the metal brackets with steel and the hoop has been perfect ever since! That was over 6 months ago and it only cost $150. The cost of a new hoop is $800 so that was a huge savings for me!

 

Another project he did was replacing a window.   I was quoted almost $1000 to have a window replaced by the local glass store.  It was double insulated and it was not a common size.  Matt took the window to his glass store had it replaced with the same glass and reinstalled it at half of the price!  

 

I cannot say enough positive things about Matt and the work he does.  It is very easy to get taken advantage of especially when you are not aware of the costs of repairs and services.  I feel blessed to have come across someone I can trust to be in my home and provide me with a quality service.
