Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?
Call us at (516) MASTER-H(516-627-8374), or email us at webcontact@mastercrafthomeimprovements.com. We'll gladly meet with you and review what you want done.
Will I get an estimate?
Yes, a detailed, written estimate specificying what'll be done and the actual materials used.
What happens next?
After reviewing and accepting the estimate, you'll get a starting date and approximate completion date.
How soon can you start?
As soon as we can based on your calendar and ours.
What if I change my mind even after I sign the estimate?
If you signed the estimate in your home, Federal law allows you 3 (three) days to change your mind. If you do, we will cheerfully refund your money (see actual County procedure for details).
How long will my project take?
We let you know this at the time you approve the estimate, and we do our best to stay on schedule.
How much will my project cost?
That is specified in the estimate; both labor and material.
Do I have to pay sales tax?
Yes, unfortunately we all do! If your project is a Capital Improvement, then you don't have to pay sales tax on the labor (after filling out a short form).
What if something unexpected comes up during the work?
If it does, we will show it to you, explain the cause and remedy, and give you a written estimate of what it will take to repair the problem -- you can choose to do it or not.
Do you give a warranty?
Yes. In writing, for one full year.
